The Opre Roma Movement organized a video dialogue with representatives of POKS, a representative of PSG and a representative of SPS

The Opre Roma Movement organized a video dialogue with POKS representatives doc. dr. Goran Ivančević, the person authorized for the provincial elections, the representative of PSG, Sergej Trifunović, and the representative of the SPS, Žarko Obradović. The dialogues had great visibility. Over 20,000 people saw it. In addition, over 7,000 people watched live on the Opre Roma FB page alone, and that number is growing.      

The content of the dialogue was on the topic of employment and entrepreneurship, participation in public and political life, and equality that resulted from our internal dialogue with the Roma community.      

Representatives of the political parties that were present were open to hearing all the challenges that the Roma community is facing as a result of the dialogue:   All representatives of the parties we were in dialogue with today expressed a desire to establish cooperation with the Opre Roma movement around the priorities that emerged from the dialogue with the community.         

POKS  states the following:  

1. There is the significant economic potential of Roma in the diaspora that needs to be activated.  

2. Roma should not be discriminated against in employment in the labor market.  

3. Partocracy should be broken so that Roma can participate.  

4. Roma, like everyone else, should participate in public administration, and society should be treated equally.             

PSG  states the following:  

1. The movement is open to listening to Roma voices proposing concrete program measures for employment, political participation, and equality that should be integrated into the party’s program itself.            

The  SPS  states the following:  

1. The state should be smarter in activating the economic potential of the Roma, it should invest much more in education driven by market changes.  

2. There is a need for more Roma in parliament at the national and local levels. “We need Roma in parliament.” He agreed to talk to the party after the election about manipulating Roma's votes.  

3. To publicly condemn every act of hatred and violence against the Roma community, and for the state to create prevention so that it does not become the norm.    Link to dialogues
